BEDA7: Cold fingers

W e a t h e r | windy au BOUTTE! (25km/h)
S u n r i s e | 6h22 s e t | 7h29
M o o d | It is most unpleasant to type while your fingers are frozen and have seemingly forgotten how to perform mundane tasks – such as typing.
This day was 80% good and 8% bad.
Song of the Day | The Libertines – Don’t Look Back Into the Sun
B e s t thing that happened :
spending the day?
W o r s t thing that happened :
not having heat in my room
I have not done any school work for the past three nights, not counting this one. I THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO GET MY BRAIN BACK INTO MOTION, DON’T YOU? April = doomsdaymonth.
Also: my sister&I accidentally revealing to my dad (through a series of jokes) that his memory is … not what it used to be. ): Teasing aside, I hope he doesn’t feel too bad about it.

Here are 3 l i t t l e things that made me feel A WHOLE LOT better :
- Going to the girl’s washroom with Josh. Going into stall next to Josh. Continuing conversation with Josh until he says he can’t hear me over the pee. Getting out of stalls with Josh; washing hands. Josh commenting on the cleanliness of the girl’s bathroom; girl/stranger walking into girl’s bathroom. Josh and I laughing our asses off.
- A girl forgot her umbrella on the bus, so I ran out after her and gave it back.
- Lunch with Josh, Sasha, Mass, Francisish
- Playing cowboy with des attaches duo-tang and an agricultural pocketknife
- Actually having a good, consistent laughs around the dinner table.
- Sharing sweets with Vi
- I was walking a couple steps up from a security guard at Champlain, and when we got the doors, I opened it and let him pass through first. And he insisted: “Ben non, c’est toujours les femmes en premier. (:” and I was like; O: why aren’t you half your age and a student here? loll It was then that it struck me that real men – real gentlemen – are hard to find. They don’t make them like that anymore, lol

The s t r a n g e s t thing that happened was :
Getting lots of stares in Law class. Lykhiyeah I know I’m not registered here, but no need to gawk like I’m a llama at Place Portobello.
Gaspard says: MMMMKAY BETCHES?
Food Challenge :
Something Winsane&I are going to do together.
* winsane (L)(ap) says (12:20 AM):
LOL
i think
we should make a challenge.
moi aussi jsuis trop gourmande
let’s limit our day to:
-breakfast
-lunch
-a snack
-supper
-a snack (before 9pm)
Rule : Fruits&Veggies don’t count as snacks. If we need brainfood after 9pm, it will have to be fruits&veggies.
D: I already feel like I’m two squares behind the ‘Go/Start’ box on the gameboard. I’m off the damn thing, even. Well, if Winsane will do it with me… I suppose things will turn out okay. And if they don’t…
HEY, GIMME THE UN. LOL.
My wallet is sad D:
Let us review the facts:
- Cahier ligné | - 3$
- Sony Cybershot | - 200$
- Smart Set uniform clothes | - 85$
- Oscar et la Dame Rose | - 14,02$
- Stapler | - 2,57$
- Last IGA paycheck | + 80$
- File Folder | - 1,70$
- Two pens (LOVETHEM. FROM DOLLARAMA. LOVE THEM.) | - 1$
- Money back for school supplies | + >500$
- Tax stuff | + who knows$
I would go on but I can’t remember much right now because it is WAY TOO LATE AND I WANTED TO GO TO BED BY TWELVE. WINSANE: NEW RULE! GO TO BED BY 1AM EVERY NIGHT. AMEN.

BEDA3: Before-last day
D a t e | Friday April 03, 2009
W e a t h e r | really humid throughout the day; did my French exam with a window slightly open which made the air feel a little damp but I loved it so much that I just kept writing stuff on my paper until the teacher threw me out. ;D Evening: downpour. Srsly.
M o o d | (: Loved the humidity. Wasn’t such a fan of the clouds bursting all over and ruining a potential moment, and URGH IT WAS MY LAST FRIDAY AT IGA AND I FEEL BUMMED BECAUSE *POTENTIAL MOMENT*. D’:
This day was 86% good and 19% bad.
B e s t thing that happened :
Finishing at 9h30. Even if I am supposed to finish at 9h, because my hourly bus passes at 9h22. But I was able to ‘closer’ avec tout le monde, and… *potential moment*. (shuttup, I’ll say it another times in this post)
W o r s t thing that happened :
Finding out they weren’t giving me hours next week.
D: Sadface to the max.
Here are 3 l i t t l e things that made me feel A WHOLE LOT better :
- POTENTIAL MOMENTTTT.
- Talking to François and Jessy about the paranormal, and sex changes. LOL
- Talking to Brucie about traveling
- OH MY GODDE WINSANE IS GOING TO PARISSSSSSSSS!! ♥
- Doing French exam in humid room
- English class: everyone making funny noises&wailing&watching Dante’s Inferno movie which is SO weird?!
- PARISPARISPARISPARIS! <3
The s t r a n g e s t thing that happened was :
As I was getting out of the car, the door swung back on me and hit me on the face, and now I have this random blotch/bruise thing and whatthehellshtoopidface. LOL.
Song of the day:
Michelle Williams | We Break the Dawn
We‘re bigger than this tiny town.
Paris
OH MY GODDE, GUESS WHO IS GOING TO PARIS?
WINSANE.
AND EMY.
WINSANE WITH EMY.
Je capote. Seriously, they could not have chosen better people to go. I do not know two nicer, more genuine people who are more deserving of exploring chaque recoin de Paris ensemble. (: They will have the time of their lives, take way too many pictures, have loud moments, have quiet moments, have tourist moments, have fantastic moments of stuffing their faces with french food. I hope they will have too much fun to be missing home, because home will always be here for them when they get back, anyway. <3
(I can’t wait to buy goingawaypresents, to pack bags, to hugcrywave goodbye, to receive the first postcard, to hear all the stories when they get back, to pour over everything, to see them come back changed, but always the same person who left. C’est dur à expliquer, mais… Wow, I feel happy when they are happy. Maybe that is what love is; wanting the best for someone, even if it means not being able to see them for a while.
Comme je t’aime weeface. (: I know you will feel infinite, à Paris. <3)
Portugal
Speaking of traveling:
At the end of my last year of college, MsLopes offered me a non-paying job in Portugal. All I would have to do is go to the beach (ohnoes) or do whatever else with her little nephew. He has trouble learning English, so all I would have to do is talk English all the time. LYK HELLO, I DO THAT ALL THE TYM. I would have to pay my own plane ticket, but the boy’s family (and MsLopes’s closest family friends) would provide me with food and a roof over my head. They also have a daughter who is my age, so I wouldn’t get sick of hanging with a tinykid all the time. And MsLopes wants me to meet her grandson. Apparently, he is like Mathiew. (You know what I mean, Winsane LOL)
I didn’t go last summer, because my parents didn’t want me to. They thought it would be a bad idea to not get payed for anything, and that I would have to pay for my own plane ticket.
But here’s the deal. If I am going to visit a different country, I am still going to pay my own way. This way, I will also be able to practice teaching a bit without the pressure, see if it is something I could be interested in. I could be dunked in this new society where I do not know a living soul, see if I can survive. Also: HI, BEACH. WOW. WHADDUP. None of that fake sand stuff au Parc Jean Drapeau – PORTUGAL HAS THE REAL DEAL. And I wouldn’t have to pay for food or a flat. M’essemble que c’est pas si pire, non?
… Je sais pas. I should start saving my money.
Potential moment/109
Third ‘p’:
After work, I was walking outside of the grocery store and it was pouring out. Shame, because potential moment would have become *MOMENT!* because… 109 was going one way, but turned back, and I turned back, and … if there had been a roof, WHO KNOWS. But I told him to get out of the rain, and straight home (il habite 5 minutes de la). En tout cas. Je sais pas. Shtoopid rain.
I know I am being unclear, but I am just really focused on travelling right now, LOL.
En tout cas.
Je vous laisse.
(I was supposed to finish writing this three hours ago, MAIS BON. Epic fail, genre.)
(:

Some of my favourite things
LOL I JUST SAW THAT I HAVE BEEN HACKED.
Fabulous. ♥
So Maureen Johnson started this thing called BEDA, or Blog Every Day April, and since my little salmonhead has been dead for quite some time, I have decided to clear the tumbleweeds aside and participate! I need the motivation anyways.
So in today’s news:
Did you know?
Myoclonus jerk
Here is a clue: it isn’t another way to insult a douchebag. It is a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscles. Hiccups are a kind of myoclonus jerk that affect the diaphragm, but the most common time for it to occurs is at night, while trying to fall asleep. This is called the hypnic jerk, which gives the subject the sensation that they are falling, but physically resembles the reaction one would have when startled. It occurs more often in those who do not have a regular sleeping schedule.
This just in!
Polaroids are dead
I regret to inform you that the makers of Polaroid have announced that they will no longer be producing instant cameras, film, or any other Polaroid product. Bouh. D:
However! The company isn’t going deep into hiding. They have decided to invest themselves in what they believe to be the future of their company: Poladroid.
After downloading the program, you can just drag&drop any picture to get your poladroided photo. Yes, you still have to wait for it to load… but you can shake it around the screen to hurry the process up. (:
Here is how my first try ended up:
I took the original (to the right) on the way to CoffeeHero’s house with my
cellphone. It adds a pretty cool texture&feel to the pic, actually making it look like a polaroid. Even though it is a shame Polaroid will no longer be manufacturing their original product anymore, there are plus sides to their new vision: not only is it cheaper (c’mon– you know you have looked up the price of one of their cameras on Ebay at least once), but it is more accessible.
It can be hard for old companies to keep up with the new age of technology, but Polaroid seems to be making the right decisions. Realistically, toting one of their originals around is cumbersome. People are much more likely to capture a moment with their cellphone, which can slip easily into a jean pocket. They have kept the ‘vintage’ look of their pictures, and rightly so, because it is not always fun to look at a clear, crisp image. (:
As for actual blogging...
School
What else? It has just turned 9pm, and I have yet to start my homework. I find it so hard to concentrate at home, even when I am motivated. Makes me wish there was a tunnel connecting my room to the school’s library, which would be accessible at any time. April will be a busy month, and I plan on taking a break from Facebook and MSN. I am determined to keep on track as much as possible, and I am already making the effort to start things earlier (even if it is just a week in advance; it is better than doing it last minute). This means working on final essays bit by bit, submitting drafts to teachers to get their opinion on it before the actual due date, etc. I want to be the best student I can be, and not skate by with a ‘barely passing’ or a ‘did not study but got a passing grade’. I want to be able to do work that I can actually be proud of… is that too geeky? Really doesn’t matter. At least I can take breaks that are deserved, rather than taking a break from procrastinating. … Myeah.
Work
Gave in my lettre de démission last week to IGA. Feel like crap.
On the plus side, I went to Smart Set with Vi yesterday, because my new boss (Audrey) said employees had to wear clothes from the newest collection. Decided on a couple nice pieces, but the computer was down so they weren’t able to register my name into the system and get the 50% off. The assistant manager (Kelly) was really nice and put the things aside for me. (: (Even though I don’t think they’re technically supposed to.)
Other
New rule: No more going to bed after 1am because of school work. I am tired of being tired, and have decided to treat my body like a temple. … A temple with a lot of offerings. A temple with a lot of offerings I must eat, out of religious obligation. Mmm, spinach pizza. <3 Okay, okay, so places of worship should not be stuffed with greasy fast foods. GIMME A BREAK. It’s one step at a time, starting with getting my ass organized around the clock. (Because if there is one thing I have learnt, it is that no matter how hard I squeeze my eyes shut and wish for an extension, there will always be twentyfour hours in a day.)
Also: You should listen to Adele – Last Nite (Strokes cover). Catchy song, and different enough from the original to be distinctive, but not too much to make it unrecognizable. I have been singing this to myself for the past two nights, and cannot get enough. Here is the YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zNIAzSw6jA.

25 things about my sleeping habits
- I can’t fall asleep resting on the left side of my face because of second ear piercing (although most times that’s the side I wake up on).
- 99% of the time, I sleep with a pair of socks on.
- I sleep with the bottom of the sheets curled under my feet, because I hate coldness of the end of the bed/breeze sobre mes pieds.
- The open end of my pillowcase is placed on the left side. This is more out of habit than anything.
- Every day for one year, I went to sleep listening to Fall Out Boy’s From Under the Cork Tree album.
- Every day for six months, I went to sleep listening to My Chemical Romance’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge album.
- Every day for six months, I went to sleep listening to Explosions in the Sky’s All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone album.
- I sleep with one pillow, but two blankets&one duvet, even in the summer.
- Until last year, I used to always sleep with the curtains open.
- In the summer, I will sometimes randomly wake up at 2, 3, or 4 in the morning, sit upright, open the window, and look&listen until the sound of the city in the summer lulls me back to sleep. This’ll usually happen every twotothree days.
- My cellphone must always be within arm’s reach when I fall asleep.
- Sometimes I wake up in the morning with my cell open&lying under me. Wtf, sleeptexting much?
- I always put a little vaseline on my lips before going to bed.
- I can’t go to sleep with wet hair, but I always take a shower at night. (So I just end up waiting for an hour before creeping into bed.)
- The only bed [other than my own] that I can fall asleep in easily is Amanda’s. …. Apart from when Beebs keeps sniffing at me, and licking my face, and being Beebs.
- I love love LOVE being in cars in the summer before the A/C has kicked in, and the air is still thick&drowzy. Makes my head swim and sleepy and happy.
- One of the simplest things in life that makes me happy is when I change the sheets after taking a shower, so I go to sleep surrounded by crisp, sweet-smelling freshness.
- I don’t usually remember my dreams unless I’m interrupted&woken up by a text message.
- Shannon used to be my alarm clock, texting me at 6 in the morning as she was in math class and using bacon as a threat if I didn’t get up&get ready for school soon. <3
- When I was little, I used to sleep with my favorite books underneath my pillow. When I was little, I used to break a lot of book spines.
- I have this thing where I love falling asleep in cars when they’re moving&the right music is playing.
- I have never been able to fall asleep in class. Or in the daytime in general. It sucks.
- Mr. Norrington = essential.
- The walls surrounding my bed are full of things that remind me of my friends, because I sometimes like re-reading them things so that I can fall asleep happy.
- My favorite duvet cover is my playboy ones, because the buttons at the bottom snap shut really well. (:

Never wake up with yesterday’s drama on your back.

Six:00 2 Eleven:00
Que la journée se lève… … et qu’elle soit réduit en silence.
Got up early this morning.
I love early morning silences. There’s something about them that just makes me want to wake up especially early every day, so that I can have mine all to myself. (: My first class tomorrow is at 10:00. I think I’ll aim to get in at 8 though, just so that I can be all *nerd* and *(:* because I got to listen to the golden silence all on my sweet lonesome. <3
…
I’m pretty sure I was dropped on the head at least once when I was a kid.
I went to Dix30 after school today to hunt for gym shorts.
I had boy-sport-shorts in mind, but I didn’t find anything in the end so I’ll just borrow David’s. (REEBOKFTW.) I DID find, however, this really nice AEagle shirt. It was love. I had to get it. I’m a bad kid. XD I’ll wear it tomorrow and give Becca a fashion show. (:
Speaking of fashion
I’ve been in a really weird clothes-mood recently. Yesterday I was wearing brown shirt &soldier-print bag and today I was all lacey camisole, loose scarf, loose old converse laces… I MEAN WTF. I totally sat masculine today. *shuffles feet* I think my childhood love of playing dress up is coming back to my teenage self.
When I went to the A&E cash, the guy asked me “Ca va?” (just to make conversation), and I said: “Ouais.” and he was like: “Hah. T’as pas l’air d’être sure.” which just got me thinking. I had answered him without thinking, so that must mean that I had given him the true answer, right? And if I didn’t sound sure… it must be because I’m not… deep down somewhere. Maybe I’m looking too much into this, but I’m just saying. … maybe I was just distracted.
In any case, I can’t wait to wear my new AE shirt. ♥
Lopes
Valerie, Saam &I are going to see Lopes asap. Nica too. (: We’ll be a weird bunch, but would I have it any other way? (: Probably not.
(I just hope they won’t make us wear our polos when we get into AB.)
Recommendation
Song
Ratatat – Seventeen Years
I don’t know what’s up with me, but I seem to be more into dance-music recently. There’re aren’t any lyrics with this song, so if you’re looking for the meaning of life, don’t listen to this baby. LiveLavaLive (a YouTuber I recommend. He’s hilarious. His randomness is ♥) (Note to self: I have strange taste in guys. one:thirtyfour min video) used it in one of his videos and it’s been on replay. Not one of the best instrumental bands (Explosions in the Sky are still top in that department, imo); the song couldn’t be compared to fireworks either. I like the general sound of it, and I can’t wait to check out some more of their stuff when I get the time. (:
Some other (better) songs I’ve just added to my *Nuevo playlist:
(dancing ftw)
- Ashanti : Oh Baby (After the Club)
- The Ting Tings : That’s not my name
- Justice : New Jack
I’ve also just added Julia Nunes’ cover of “That Green Gentleman”, one of my favorite PATD songs of all time. It doesn’t have anything to do with the other more recent added content, but you should go check it out anyways. She plays the uke in it, and some kind of weird piano-flute. 4minute:2second video.
(Man. I wish I knew how to play the uke.)
Anyways, it’s 11:50, and this is me saying;
good night pompeii.

Autographes
This post comes in two parts.
Blogging
I woke up this morning (edit: august8th. For some reason, I just found this post in the ’saved’ section of my WP) with the urge to read the messages left in my high school yearbook. I haven’t even finished, but I just wanted to take two seconds to say…
I’m not crying – not like I was the first time I read them – but every new not makes me smile inside&out. I love how everyone put something of their own personality in their message without even realizing it. It almost feels like you’re all here with me right now; I can see Fannie’s disorganized hair, feel Pascal’s and Mr. Chassé’s infectious enthusiasm, hear Marie-Pier state her opinion with such veracious conviction… Shahab, Rebecca, Winsane; I’m so glad we got to stay in touch this summer, really. Even though I got to see you every day, the fortune-teller inside me knows it won’t be the last time I see you, of which I’m glad. (:
I love how everyone took the time to write something, because when I read the book back your words come across as so much more sincere. Thank you to everyone for not just writing: “T’es une belle fille! Change pas! Follow your dreams!” My last year of high school was the best, and I’m so glad I was able to go through these past five years with you guys. (:
Recommendation
song
- Bobby Valentine vs Coldplay – Anonymous (Viva la Vida Remix)
The 4minute:20second video
I was listening to this song while reading my yearbook, and it seemed to fit so perfectly that I decided to make it my recommended song of the day. (: It’s one of FL1PB01T4M1DL35’s creations, and I really like how the combined product he created sounds like it could be a real song. It’s catchy, and I find that even though you can identify the two songs he used, the produced mash-up sounds like it could stand on its own as a separate single. You don’t have to have listened to Viva la Vida or Anonymous to like the song, so go check it out. (:
playlist
While on the subject of good FL1PB01T4M1DL35 songs, here are my favorite ones from his site:
- Justin Timberlake vs Mary J. Blige – My Love (Just Fine Remix) (The 4minute:48second video) Even though I was damn sick of hearing My Love, this song was on replay for two days straight. I just couldn’t stop singing along with Mary J. when it got to her part. My life’s just fine!
- Ludacris vs N.E.R.D – Stand up (My Drive Thru Remix) (The 4minute:6second video) The first time I heard this song, I went from tired-as-hell to sugar-high-hyper in two seconds. While we’re here, let me also take the time to give you the link for the original My Drive Thru (The 2minute:31second video). Hella catchy. Also hella weird. Nathan hated it at first, but it kept popping up so often in his Listening To, I guess he became just as addicted to it as me. (;
- Cassie vs The Cure – Close to Me & You Remix (The 3minute:18second video) I love how catchy this song is. The introducing beat always makes me think of Footloose – and not in the bad way. It’s an interesting mix that’s hard to stop playing over&over again. It wasn’t originally made by FL1PB01T4M1DL35, but he did do some editing to it.

I always love getting random comments from people, especially from those I didn’t know read my little posts. I don’t know why, but I always get this little rush and can’t wait to see what they’ve written. It seems that my day is always brighter after reading a new one, and for at least a few moments, I feel invincible. (:

dream
I had a very good dream last night, although I can’t remember much of it come morning. It had something to do with… running after a little girl…
I would always find her staring out of her living room’s bay window as I passed, and I would wave to her even if she was otherwise a complete stranger. Then one day, she passed in front of my house as I was staring out of my own window, and I didn’t wave back. Her friend scornfully made fun of her for waving at a house, and she walked away, head bowed. It took me a minute to register what had happened, but when I did I ran outside barefoot, looking for her down the street. At the intersection, I ran into what looked to be a band of friends who controlled the on-going traffic of cars and trains. They were all very friendly, and I remember there being one bald man, one woman, and a handful of other people. I asked them whether they had seen a little girl, and they told me she had already crossed over the train tracks and was around the hill. It was quite near, but for some reason I felt like I couldn’t cross the iron tracks, so I stayed and chatted with the ‘traffickers’ for a while. When the sun started to set and they seemed content with their day’s work, they walked me back to my house. The woman sat with me on the front porch, three others sat on the slight hill that rolled towards my driveway, and the man stood on the brick path to my door, looking at the sun go down. We stayed there for a while, not having to say anything but peacefully ingesting the gold, still summer air. Inside, my cousins from Taiwan were sitting around the dinner table, praying before the meal spread out before them. This only seemed strange in retrospect, because no one in my family prays before they eat.
Well, I honestly didn’t expect that so much of the dream would come back to me. It was a very good one; I liked the sun-set ending. The perfect summer evening for me. Although I was constantly the subject of the dream, sometimes I felt the little girl’s emotions, enough so to wonder if the teased and distraught little figure was a simple reflection of a younger-self.
waking up
I woke up at 11:10 this morning, so I quickly got my cellphone and snapped a shot as it turned 11:11. It made me think of Winsane, and how the sky is the limit. It’s not a bad though to wake up to. (:
anne of green gables
I woke up at 11:10 this morning, and almost immediately felt like reading Anne of Green Gables. I went hunting about the house to try and find the first and second book, and I finally found it in my father’s dusty bookcase in his study, next to a book I had forgotten existed: The Hardy Boys, 3 in 1. What a gem, right! Haha, I kid, I kid. What an old book… the pages had yellowed with age and developed a particular smell that only old books have the privilege to contain. It’s one of my favorite scents in the world; smelling of comfort, front porch swings, easy days and even more peaceful nights. It’s the smell of cozy coffee shops and second-hand bookstores, and I don’t think I’ll ever grow sick of it, of the smell of home.
face wash
I made a scandalous discovery this morning: we seem to have run out of face wash in the middle of the night. I hunted about the bathroom cupboards (isn’t that a strange word? Cupboards. Cup. Boards. Cupboards. Broad cups? “What a find broad! What a promiscuous woman!”[/smallsteamofconsciousness]) for some kind of face soap and came across a tea-tree concoction my Taiwanese cousin must have left a few months ago when he had stayed at our house. It was for men, but it smelled good so I tried it. Tea-tree always leaves me feeling fresh, and I just thought you guys have the right to know such useless and dull things.
recommendations&the like
online game
- Avalanche
Essentially, Avalanche is a never-ending game. Not in the ‘you must go on a quest and save the princess! But she never gets out of trouble, and should honestly take some karate lessons or SOMETHING ’cause it’s just getting so tiring running after her captors all the time, and it would just be great if she could learn how to defend herself’ way, but in the Pacman way. The concept isn’t a hard one to grasp: by using the arrows on your keyboard, you jump on blocks to save your little Chicklet-looking ‘body’ from getting squished or from drowning by the ever-rising water. Blocks keep dropping from the sky, so the higher you jump the safer you are. It’s a simple game of challenge, and won’t last hours so it’s easy to play a couple games as a quick break in-between homework assignments. Not that I’ve done that before…

song
- ‘Toothpaste Kisses’ by The Maccabees
The 2minute:48second video
This cute little romantic song that has been able to marry the sticky crackling old recordings in Etta James’ time have, while leaving the listener without a doubt that it is a modern song. It is an original sound – one that you couldn’t confuse with any other.
I plan on recommending one song per post from now on, as often as I can. I’ll try to diversify the genres as much as possible, and not state the obvious, popular songs. Unless I really like them.
WELL. I’m gonna go get some lunch. It took me forever to write this, and I could do with some ciabatta bread right abouts now.

- Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
The 42minute:26second video
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a short tragedy/comedy/musical 3-episode… short movie. I suppose you could call it? I’m not quite sure. It’s about a not-quite-so-super villain Dr. Horrible (aka Billy), his intense crush on do-gooder Penny, his intense dislike of egotistical arch-nemesis Johnny Snow Captain Hammer, and his dream to join Bad Horse’s Evil League of Evil (despite having never killed – or wished to kill – anyone). It is a musical, so expect some characters to break out into a song every-so-often. The singing is actually good though, and not over the top: there are two songs in particular that I can’t stop listening to (‘Laundry Day’ and ‘On the Rise’), so don’t be turned off because you think this is another High School Musical-type thing.
My favorite part is at the very beginning, when Dr. Horrible is blogging and answering questions from readers of his blog. It resembles real blogs so much, it’s hilarious.
PS : I love how Extra described Dr. Horrible as ‘The love-struck super-villain who sings.’
PPS : Neil Patrick Harris (of How I Met Your Mother and Harold & Kumar Go to Whitecastle fame) plays the doctor. If that doesn’t make you want to go check it out, I don’t know what will.
PPPS: Each episode is around 15 minutes-long, and you can go watch all three for free on the official website. (Link provided above.)

- ‘A-Punk’ by Vampire Weekend
The 2minute:20second video
Came across this song on YouTube randomly one day, and even though I wasn’t crazy about it at first and closed the window after listening to it, I found that it would often get stuck in my head. After two weeks of wishing I had the song on my iPod because my brain kept playing the song at me, I finally downloaded it. I am glad to say I can now resume living my life like a sane person.

FL1PB01T4M1DL35 is a tuber who dishes out mash ups. In other words, he combines two or more songs by layering vocals&instrumentals and/or piecing tracks together to create a remix. Although I don’t like all of the sounds he has produced, there are quite a few that I just can’t stop listening to. I’ll be posting my favorite ones tomorrow (along with more song&artist&playlist recommendations), so keep an eye out for that. (:
Remember that if you want to watch any YouTube video in Higher Quality, all you need to do is add ‘&fmt=18‘ at the end of the link. It enhances the sound&picture quality, and is especially helpful when watching movies or live recorded performance on the site. (:

Today’s world of the day is ‘baisodrome‘, brought to you by Nathan. It’s what he named one of his mule accounts because he thought it meant ‘orgy’ in French. If anyone can find me the real definition of the word, I’ll make you crêpes/cookies. The closest thing to proof of ‘official existence’ I could find was this sentence:
Anticoche venait de disparaitre dans le petit baisodrome privé contigu à la salle de danse et dans lequel s’entassaient les manteaux. (1947s book)
I’m thinking it might mean a make-out room, but… I really have no clue.
Tomorrow, instead of watching The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2 with the girls, I think I’ll save 20$ and stay home. I plan on cleaning my room (since I didn’t today) and taking advantage of my sowing mood to modify one of my XL shirts. We’ll see how it goes. ;D
I actually have a good reason as to why I didn’t clean my room today as I said I would: I was helping my sister plant presents around town. It’s her boyfriend’s birthday today, and she thought she would send him on a treasure hunt while she went to his place to cook him a surprise dinner. I thought it was a really cute idea, and I’m happy I got to go along with her everywhere to hide the nifty gifties. X) I even acted as David’s ‘phone-a-friend’ while he was following the clues, just in case he needed some extra help finding the presents. It was so much fun, I can’t wait for it to be one of my friend’s birthday so I can do something similar, hahaha.
