Our friends don’t always know us as well as they think, particularly when it comes to likes and dislikes. What would your friends be surprised to hear about you?

I don’t believe in true love. I don’t even know if I know what ‘love’ is. Every person’s definition of the word is either

a) a reflection of what they wish for in a relationship – which we all know is tainted from the beginning, because we often wish for the impossible, or the improbably

b) a reflection of what the person defines as their relationship, as if they are trying to justify that what they have with their current boyfriend or girlfriend is ‘true love’.

In reality, who knows what it is? Does it mean anything more than ‘care’? Are we giving too much importance to one word? Or are we throwing it around too much, lessening its significance?

Maybe all it is, is a chemical imbalance.

25 things about my sleeping habits

1. I can’t fall asleep resting on the left side of my face because of second ear piercing (although most times that’s the side I wake up on).
2. 99% of the time, I sleep with a pair of socks on.
3. I sleep with the bottom of the sheets curled under my feet, because I hate coldness of the end of the bed/breeze sobre mes pieds.
4. The open end of my pillowcase is placed on the left side. This is more out of habit than anything.
5. Every day for one year, I went to sleep listening to Fall Out Boy’s From Under the Cork Tree album.
6. Every day for six months, I went to sleep listening to My Chemical Romance’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge album.
7. Every day for six months, I went to sleep listening to Explosions in the Sky’s All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone album.
8. I sleep with one pillow, but two blankets&one duvet, even in the summer.
9. Until last year, I used to always sleep with the curtains open.
10. In the summer, I will sometimes randomly wake up at 2, 3, or 4 in the morning, sit upright, open the window, and look&listen until the sound of the city in the summer lulls me back to sleep. This’ll usually happen every twotothree days.
11. My cellphone must always be within arm’s reach when I fall asleep.
12. Sometimes I wake up in the morning with my cell open&lying under me. Wtf, sleeptexting much?
13. I always put a little vaseline on my lips before going to bed.
14. I can’t go to sleep with wet hair, but I always take a shower at night. (So I just end up waiting for an hour before creeping into bed.)
15. The only bed [other than my own] that I can fall asleep in easily is Amanda’s. …. Apart from when Beebs keeps sniffing at me, and licking my face, and being Beebs.
16. I love love LOVE being in cars in the summer before the A/C has kicked in, and the air is still thick&drowzy. Makes my head swim and sleepy and happy.
17. One of the simplest things in life that makes me happy is when I change the sheets after taking a shower, so I go to sleep surrounded by crisp, sweet-smelling freshness.
18. I don’t usually remember my dreams unless I’m interrupted&woken up by a text message.
19. Shannon used to be my alarm clock, texting me at 6 in the morning as she was in math class and using bacon as a threat if I didn’t get up&get ready for school soon. <3

21. I have this thing where I love falling asleep in cars when they’re moving&the right music is playing.
22. I have never been able to fall asleep in class. Or in the daytime in general. It sucks.

24. The walls surrounding my bed are full of things that remind me of my friends, because I sometimes like re-reading them things so that I can fall asleep happy.

Have been complete&utter love.

Joined the Champlain Word, had a FANTASTIC time yesterday at work (kept making Peter laugh really hard, getting (surprisingly) teased by PierOlivier, Melissa calling me LeeLee all the time and making me (: about NouilleYork, showing the new girl comment mettre sa caisse à cent), making a food baby in Kanda with old friends, talking with ShabShab for 1h30 afterwards on his driveway… c’était vraiment relax, felt good. Last (rainy) FrailleDay I was in the bus on my way to seeing Winsane b/c we were feeling emo&missing AB, and I was all *sick* and needed some good ole fashion *love*.

Anyway, the windows were all foggy from the rain and I suddenly had the urge to write something on them. I turned around and rubbed in: “Are you happy? ☺” The little boy sitting next to me (for the record, he was one of the most serious-looking kids I had ever seen.) saw me write that, turned in his seat and scribbled: “Yes.” underneath. He looked at me, still serious, then cracked one of the most sincere smiles I had ever seen.

I know it doesn’t sound like much, but… ahhh, it really made my day, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget that little boy. (: As he left, he turned around (still serious-looking) graced me with another sweet smile and uttered a quick “G’bye.” I love when these things happen. Little magical moments that make me smile inside and out… I hope everyone gets to experience a moment like that at least once in their life.

I asked my parents to get me a ukelele for my birthday because I thought I’d teach myself how to play. The one they got me has plastic strings, and I was wondering if that would make a difference to the sound it would make? Whenever I compare my uke to the ones I hear on YT, it never sounds the same. I don’t know if it’s because it hasn’t been tuned properly or if I should buy a ‘real’ one?

Yeah, the strings do make a difference to the sound. I originally had a cheap Uke with the dodgy strings, now I have a decent brand with good quality strings and it sounds much better.

Conclusion: Get a tuner. Get a ‘real’ uke.

(And for all those who think I haven’t even touched my uke yet: I shall have you know that I practiced just the other day (when no one else was in the house) and that I do really want to learn how to play.)
