Dear Liberal Arts Student,
I would like to thank you for having chosen Champlain as your cegep, and Liberal Arts as your program of study for cegep, as well as welcome you to what we believe will be a challenging and worthwhile experience for you at Champlain College. To better prepare you for your studies in Liberal Arts at Champlain I would like to inform you that, as in past years, there will be an orientation meeting, known as the “Orientation Session” at the College on Thursday, August 14, at 10:00 in room A-127.

In this orientation session to the College and to the Liberal Arts program, you will be given some very basic information on the College’s facilities, on how to register for your courses, and on how “college culture” differs from life at high school, particularly in terms of the work required.

At this session, you will be introduced to these survival skills, including some pointers on how to manage your time and your studies, and how to cope with the stress you are bound to experience in this first semester. Second, you will have an opportunity to ask questions about the program and your courses. Third, we will be going over a typical course syllabus or outline. Fourth, you will be given a sheet of instructions on the first essay that you will have to write in the Philosophy 101 course. Finally this meetin–
